LEAKY FRANKEN-FRIDGE

We attended site to a Work Laboratory Cold Room for a large Pharmaceutical Company. The standby Chiller Unit had kicked in with our unit out on Low Pressure Safety. Investigations found a history of pipe fractures and leaks on service Valves, again this is the case.

LEAKY FRANKEN-FRIDGE

The condensing units serving this room had been dressed aftersales with Solenoid Valves, a Hot Gas Dump Valve and a Suction De-Superheater Valve with the Condensing Unit running 24/7 without cycling off. Looking at the room loading requirements and the heat rejection from the Munter De-humidifiers in the same room, close control is not required for this application of 4 DegC setpoint with a 3 DegC temperature range; well within a standard units capabilty. We quoted to remove all the highly inefficient close control refrigeration components listed above. This saved substantial running power costs whilst maintaining correct temperature levels in the Laboratory Cold Room. A successful project that delivered payback returns to the customer AND making sure the Refrigerant Oil and the Refrigerant R404A Stays on the inside of the unit 😉.
